In Hindu Mythology, ancient sages and philosophers used flowers & leaves in thier daily life - for worshipping the deity or wearing them (mostly flowers ).The reason behind it was that a common man should know the values of these things . Twenty one types of flowers & leaves are offered on Bhadrapad Shuddha Chaturthi, the day when the idol of Ganesha is istilled on the day when the Ganesh Festival begins. A few leaves and their uses are given below.

Uses of Patri(leaves)

Madhumalati - Juice of leaves cures skin disease.

Maka - Oil of Makacures hair fall, keeps head cool.

Bel - Juice of leaves is used to remove worms from the body

Fruit, bark and leaves cure stomachache.

Durva - Juice cures boiling of eyes.

Bor - Cures acidity, diseases observed in summer. Crushed leaves cures fever.(apply crushed leaves on head)

Dhotra - Seed cures old skin disease, cures scorpion's poison, cures paralysis.
Tulasi - Cures urinal problems, skin diseases(apply crushed seeds or leaves on skin disease)

Shami - Cures dysentery.

Vishnukant - Cures jaundice, alcer, diabetes.

Aghada - Cures constipation, piles, dysentery, scorpion poison.

Dorli - Juice of leaves cure stomachache, acidity, scorpion poison, urine stone.

Mandar - Juice of leaves cure bodyache, cough, dog bite.

Kaner - Oil cures scorpion poison.

Arjun Sadadha - To heal the would fast apply the leaves on the wound.

Dalimb - Skin of the fruit cures cough, could and asthama.

Devdar - Headache, bodyache, cold.

Marva - Skin disease, stomachache.

Pipal - Asthama, loss of memory.

Jasmin - Skin disease, acidity.

Kewada - Removes heat from the body.

Agasti - Headache, cough, cold, fever.
